Make the Sandwich

An interesting concept in today’s world of single mothers, couples who live together unmarried, and marriages that fail 50% and more of the time.

The wifey.

Who is this woman? What role does she play in her man’s life? How did she get there. Synonyms would be bottom chick, down chick, etc. The others are just playthings, or booty call material.

Monica has a song called “sideline ho”, where she goes on to describe the differences between her relationship with her man and the other women she obviously knows he is dealing with.

A commonly known attitude of the wifey is that she knows her man has other women on the side but is content within this relationship for some reason. He may go out and run the street, he does not have to answer to her and she doesn’t necessarily know where he is but she knows its with one of those other women more than likely.

So this man is loosely engaged in polygamy-like behavior which under a more legal pretense would be in fact illegal. Anyway I believe everything comes around full circle and affects everyone as a whole and somehow becomes a standard or accepted.

So I would like to know why is this type of behavior tolerated in the first place? Do you know someone who is wifey? Are you yourself wifey? Are you the girl content with being with him part time knowing you do not enterain his mind all of the time? Fellas do u have a wifey plus creep on the side? Or do you disagree with the whole idea of wifey status?
